EasyJet 2017 Baggage Allowance and Fees
If you’re travelling with EasyJet on an upcoming flight, here’s everything you need to know about your easyJet baggage allowance, restrictions, fees and charges.
EasyJet Hand Baggage
Passengers are permitted to bring one piece of hand luggage as a carry on that will travel with them in the cabin. There are no weight restrictions on this baggage, however it must be 56 x 45 x 25cm including handles and wheels.
EasyJet Plus, FLEXI fare, Upfront and Extra Legroom customers can bring an additional small bag (eg handbag or laptop) at a maximum size of 45 x 36 x 20cm and must be placed under the seat in front.
Hand baggage is free. However if it is larger than the size restrictions, the Bag Drop desk will charge you £35 to check the bag into the aircraft hold. If you go straight to the boarding gate and your bag is oversized, you will be charged £45.
Need to purchase a suitable hand luggage case for your upcoming flight? We recommend this, available on Amazon, as they are approved by most airlines.
EasyJet Checked Baggage
Passengers can check in up to three items of hold luggage and each item must be under 275cm total in size and under 20kg (per bag). Oversized and overweight luggage will face extra charges.
Baggage can be purchased online, over the phone, or at the airport and the price will depend on the route and the season. Booking your baggage and paying online or over the phone are the cheapest options, costing between £12 and £22. Paying at the airport will cost between £32 at the bag drop or £45 at the gate.
EasyJet Excess Baggage
If your hold bag exceeds the weight allowance of 20kg, you can pay to increase your allowance up to 32kg; which is the maximum that can be accepted.
The cheapest way to pay for excess baggage is to do so online, where you will be charged £3 per kg, which must be purchased in increments of 3kg. If you pay at the airport, you will be charged £10 per kg, which must be purchased in increments of 3kg.
EasyJet Sporting Equipment
Sports Equipment can be checked in as hold luggage, but an additional fee must be paid either online or at the airport. Small sports equipment will cost £35 online or £45 at the airport and large sports equipment will cost £40 online or £50 at the airport.
