Where are my items collected from?
If you are staying in halls of residence then your item(s) will be collected from your reception or your usual collection point, please check with your university where this is. If you are staying in a flat or house the driver will come to your front door
When should I book my collection?
Most students simply book a collection a few days in advance. We recommend booking 2-3 days in advance. You can book up to 11pm for collection within the UK. You will need to book further in advance for Worldwide shipments and Imports. Each country is different so please check our booking page.
What can I send my belongings in?
You can send your items in a suitcase or a cardboard box. We can also supply you with our storage boxes for a small fee.
Does my collection and delivery address need to be the same?
The collection address and delivery address do not need to be the same, we can collect and delivery to any address within the UK Mainland, even if your addresses are in different cities. This is great if you don’t know where you will be next term. If you get your items collected from Edinburgh and then move to London, we will delivery to London for you for no extra cost.
Do I need labels?
Yes, simply print a label from your “My Orders” section of Unibaggage.com. This will come available after you receive your confirmation email, which will be sent 4-5 days before your collection. If you have booked a collection within 4/5 days you will receive your confirmation email within the hour. The page will have two labels on it, cut the page in half and attached a label to each side of your item.
How do I attach my labels?

Box – Simply stick the provided label on the box using tape or something similar just like you would a normal parcel.

Suitcase – We recommend inserting your label into a poly-pocket and taping it shut and then tie it onto your suitcase. Using tape alone to secure your labels may result in them falling off. You can also attach your labels and then clingfilm your suitcase/bag, this provides protection for your item as well as your labels. It is strongly advised not just to tape your label directly to a suitcase or bag.

What time will my items be collected?
Your item(s) will be collected between 9.00 and 18.00. If you want a smaller window our partner Parcel Force may be able to help. Simple call your local depot. You can see the contact information for local depots here: http://www.parcelforce.com/depot-finder (you may need your tracking number so have this to hand).
Is my stuff insured?
Yes each consignment is insured up to the value of £100 or £50 as standard depending on your service. You can insure your items up to £1000 when booking for a small fee.
What is Cancellation Insurance?
If you purchase cancelation insurance you can cancel your booking for a full refund, before or after the collection date (includes missing your collection for any reason). Claims must be made within 5 days of the collection date. The full amount paid (including enhanced insurance) will be credited back onto your payment card minus the cancellation insurance cost. You can claim here.
Who can use this service?
Uni Baggage is open to everyone and not just restricted to students. You can send to and from any address, you do not have to send to student accommodation.
How long does it take to receive my bag/parcel after I sent it?

24 hour service - Takes 1 working day. If collected on Monday it will be delivered on Tuesday.

48 hour service - Takes 2 working days. If collected on Monday it will be delivered on Wednesday

Worldwide - Takes from 3-7 working. Please see transit times when booking.

PLEASE NOTE: Working days are Monday - Friday, excluding bank holidays. Items are not delivered on weekends. In some remote areas it can take an extra 1-2 days for delivery

What if I am not available for my delivery?
This is not a problem, if you miss your delivery the driver will leave a card and you can arrange the delivery for another date. Some deliveries are automatically delivered the next day - look at your card. You get 3 delivery attempts. You can also collect from a local depot if you wish.
What size/weight item are you allowed to send?
You are allowed to send up to 30kg per item within the UK (UK Mainland, Northern Ireland, Highlands and Islands) and 25kg Worldwide. When you make your booking our system calculates if your item is too large.

The restrictions are:

The longest length must not exceed 1.5m

Longest length + 2(breadth + width) = No More Than 300cm

Can I send a guitar (or any musical instruments)?
Yes you can but they must be sent in travel cases and may not be covered by insurance.
Can I send my TV, PS3, XBox (electrical equipment)?
Yes you can however these item must be packaged in the original manufacturers packaging. If not they may not be cover by our insurance, some items are not cover by insurance, please check our terms and conditions.
Do I need custom documents for sending items with Uni Baggage?
We will supply all documentation you require.
Are there any restrictions on the service?
Yes, please read our terms and conditions and prohibited items list.
My item(s) have not been delivered?
Please check to see when your item was due to be delivered in My Orders. If your item(s) has not arrived 1/2 working days after your delivery date and was sent within the UK on an Express service please contact Parcel Force on 0844 800 4466 and provide them with your tracking number. If after 5 working days you have not received your item(s) please contact us. If needed we will pursue an insurance claim on your behalf. If sending on any other services please contact us directly here. The main reasons for parcels being delayed is the labels falling off, it is vitally important that you attach your labels securely.
